I was at peer support group after therapy today and there was someone new who had recently moved up from the area I grew up in... where everything happened... she kept repeating the location over and over and over again and describing different areas that I was familiar with... that eventually whenever she started speaking I would get visibly distressed...

@avant-garde oh sweetheart, I hear you. I'm sorry that it was so distressing for you, were you able to get some support while you were there sweet?

Yeah, one of the PSW's and I talked afterwards, well it was eventually talking and a lot of counting as it is a distress tolerance thing for me. 

It's just the locations name that sets me off, otherwise it could be any beach or any playground or any shopping centre... when the woman is next there the psw is going to talk to the person to not mention the name

It's completely understandable that it sets you off but it sounds like they understand and will help to keep it a safe space for you.

But then there's the thought that what if she knows my dad... she lived in my parents area...
