Oh and want to add, that such information, about how discrimination actually manifests and may look, is what would be incredibly useful and empowering for those with an MI. Acknowledge it, give us the words and resources to advocate for ourselves.

"Actually evidence has demonstrated that most fears are really just that—fears—and though they may seem overwhelming, the reality is there are things that can be done to ensure a smoother transition back into work, and these fears minimized."

I am quoting admin.

I like that member of admin. So all the more reason to point it out.

@Renstar, @NikNik, thank you for holding space, for such and important conversation xx

There's nothing like a dripping tap to make you find a way to fix it. Be the dripping tap but not too constantly and always respectfully.

These changes are happening but ever so slowly. Standing tall and making sure you count and that you're being heard is a great way to help make that change happen.

Probably because I'm so doggedly determined to make that change I'm working on the department I work for to establish mandatory courses for middle management in this area. Most supervisors and managers do nothing because they too are afraid and don't know what to do. The Black Dog Institute has some excellent courses for workplaces as do Beyond Blue. Mental Health First Aid also has some amazing courses.

You're right @Sehnsucht. Advocacy, advocacy, advocacy.

Let it begin with me is the way to go.
